In addition to individual lessons\, harpists students have the opportunity to participate in various ensembles and workshops\, including chamber music\, orchestra mock audition\, and folk music. Students will receive daily lessons focusing on harp repertoire and introduction/development on French Technique.\n\n \n\nLe Château De Moulerens accueille nos professeurs et stagiaires depuis quelques années et se confirme comme étant un lieu très favorable au travail et à la détente.\nChaque année\, les élèves viennent des quatre coins du monde bénéficier des conseils de professeurs des plus prestigieuses écoles françaises et étrangères comme les conservatoires de Paris\, Versailles\, Bordeaux\, Toulouse\, Lyon\, Madrid\, Barcelone\, Saint-Sébastien\, Londres\, Amsterdam\, Moscou\, et les Julliard school\, Penn State University\, Georgia State University\, New England Conservatory de Boston… En plus de 15 ans d´existence\, les Rencontres des Graves ont servi de tremplin à une pléiade de jeunes artistes…\n\nEn plus de leçons quotidiennes explorant le grand répertoire pour harpe ainsi que la technique de harpe française\, les étudiants harpistes ont la possibilité de participer  à des ateliers divers tels que : préparation aux auditions d’orchestre\, ensemble instrumental\, musiques du monde et musique de chambre. Redmond\,​jazz virtuoso and composer Aaron Diehl\, ​and ​Grammy­nominated keyboardist Scott Healy​with his band.\n\nThe 2016 Artists­in­Residence include\n\n• Dominik Wagner​| Artist­in­Residence\n\n• Michael Gandolfi​| Composer­in­Residence\n\n• Lukas Birk​| Visual Artist­in­Residence\n\nThe Festival has assembled a noteworthy roster of artists featuring double­bassist Dominik Wagner​from the Anne­Sophie Mutter Foundation\, clarinetist Vera Karner\,​as well as Canadian Brass lead trumpet player Caleb Hudson​. Multi­media artist Lukas Birk​joins this year as the Visual Artist­in­Residence. Returning artists include violinist Fanny Clamagirand​\, ​organist Stephen Tharp​\, The Lee Trio​and Momenta Quartet​\, and jazz pianist Adam Birnbaum​. The event is part of Metropolis’ expansive Resident Artist Series\, presented in collaboration with Ricardo Romaneiro.\n\nThroughout the night\, rooms will reveal performers in an original\, site-responsive set of electro-acoustic compositions. This enticing experiential path will link “soundbites” with dishes staged to evoke the acoustic texture of each room–from foam soup of purple cauli ower\, to oyster in champagne gelée. Memory Palace by Chris Cerrone will gather listeners on sprawling pillows under chandeliers for crickets and kick drums. The night will culminate in Romaneiro’s The Coarse Air (set to the poetry of Chris Cahill) \, which asks listeners to embed themselves throughout a chamber orchestra set up in a parlor overlooking Fifth Avenue. Featured musicians include percussionist Ian Rosenbaum and the “luminous\,” “searingly painful and revealing” soprano Ariadne Greif (New York Times). A roving after-party with additional snacks will follow.\n\n“Brownstone is a culmination of a series of evolving collaborations that play with intimacy\, space\, and permission\,” said conductor Andrew Cyr\, Artistic Director Metropolis Ensemble. “Metropolis Ensemble is thrilled to expand the imagination of classical music to include innovative food design and 360-degree composition.”\n\nAll proceeds from the event will benefit Metropolis Ensemble\, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that helps build the careers of young and emerging artists by producing\, commissioning\, and disseminating new works.
