Works by Christian Dachez with Thomas Buckner @ San Francisco
Baritone Thomas Buckner is joined by pianist Joseph Kubera, percussionist William Winant, and harpist Melanie Genin, to present newly commissioned music by Cambodian/American composer Chinary Ung and Michael Byron for voice and piano; as well as newly commissioned works by French composer Christian Dachez, for baritone, vibraphone, and harp. Mélanie will perform the US premiere of Vers Toi les Etoiles by Christian Dachez after performing the world premiere last fall in Hong Kong.

Mélanie is delighted to join the stellar musicians of Manhattan Chamber Players, one of NYC’s finest chamber musicians. This evening Mélanie will interpret the Pièce en Habanera by Ravel with flutist Emi Ferguson, both joined later by violist Luke Feming in Ravel Sonatine (arrangement Skaila Kanga/ Salzedo) at the Baruch Center for the performing arts. The rest of the program welcomes Guest Artist Violinist Carmit Zori member of Marlboro Festival and the Israeli Chamber Project.

Mélanie joins once again the talented musicians of The Orchestra Now in a project envisioned by fellow harpist Bridget Kibbey, head of the Chamber Music Department at Bard. This performance features TON playing Mendelssohn Calm Sea and Prosperous Voyage alongside Britten’s Young Person’s Guide to The Orchestra without conductor but led by Concertmaster Arnaud Sussman from Chamber Music Society at Lincoln Center. A challenging and thrilling project, where Orchestra playing meets chamber music skills.
